Hey guys I'm gonna be temporarily MIA... I'm having some PC issues. Recently it's been very reluctant to boot up... I would have to unplug the cord from the power supply, let it fully discharge, then plug it back up to boot the system. Well for the past three days even that's not working... so I have to decide if I'm going to pay to repair the thing or just build a new one. I think I'm going to leach some parts off my current setup like the vid card and the RAM and buy the rest from either Newegg or CyberpowerPC and be done with it, this XPS has given me nothing but trouble.
If I spec one it's gonna need to be on the cheap-side, probably around $700. That should be pretty formidable considering I don't need a monitor or vid card. I could probably just go ahead and leach the sound card and RAM as well.
Any thoughts or suggestions??

Are you sure it just isn't a bad power supply? If the mother board isn't receiving the necessary voltage, it will refuse to boot up. It's kind of smart like that.

I think I'll try your suggestion. Supposedly Best Buy will let you return a power supply within 30 days if it doesn't fix the problem. Here's hoping...

Well I've gotten it running for the most part, the new 1000 watt power supply seems to have done the trick... now just having some internet speed issues but hopefully that will be less costly and painful. BEHOLD, FRANKEN-PUTER!

I know this is an old post, but I gotta ask... Are you using Dell XPS? ...720?? Those things are a beast.
